Three of us went to the Newport Flower Show this morning. Newport, RI is gorgeous, I've been through the mansions before, the show was at Rosecliff, a lovely setting right on the ocean.
The show was ok - I won't bother again. It was great if you were into floral arrangements, I'm not. There were vendors, boy were there vendors, very high end stuff, jewelry, clothing, frou-frou and gee-gaws that cost a small fortune. I found a great pair or gardening boots that were onlly $375 a pair
I did buy a skirt I found that was very reasonably priced, but that's not what you go to a flower show for! We left there and went to a great nursery, The Farmer's Daughter, in Wakefield, RI, that absolutely was worth the long drive - I'll definitely go back there again! The display gardens were fantastic, the plant selection incredible, and the prices weren't too bad, although you could spend a small fortune there!
