Oh No! Coffee?

But right after Christmas, we start getting those seed catalogs, and dreaming of what to do different this year. And starting those pepper seeds.

Guess I'm going to have to keep active because I'm not giving up coffee

When I was a kid, I had some experience panning for gold.

There was a time when I thought I might be able to get back to that. Metal detectors don't hold any lure. You wash dirt and sand. Then, I realized that I didn't want to do the damage to streams. But, it still feels like a substitute for gardening. Does that make sense?

Of course, being able to do this in winter would be nearly as difficult as gardening but it gives you an idea of my perspective on things ...

Steve, If you go panning for gold in the late fall / winter , you will want to wear thermal long johns under your wet suit as I hear tell the streams start to build up speed and depth then get pretty cold with the wind chill and driving rain. You will also need a shot gun or side arm to fend off claim jumpers. Then cross your fingers and toes. Oh yea, white lightning may help too.

Shoot, I'm already sorting through my wishlist on Baker Creek...... LOL!

All that glitters ...

I seem to gravitate towards those lights in the garden center. Maybe I should stop thinking of them as something for plants and think of one or two for me!

Getting jazzed up might be the wrong thing to do ... white lightning aside. Not only caffeine suppresses the serotonin but I read that spicy food may also! I am enjoying the hot pepper in my pumpkin and salmon soup and these scientists have begun to scare me! Balanced diet - I'm okay with that.

Okay, I've had my after lunch coffee and the sun is again trying to break thru! I wonder if this tropical storm Ana will bring any chemicals that are metaphorically beneficial to balance the gloom of more rain clouds and darkness.
