Today i didn’t do anything in the garden but transplant some Rosemary, but i did take time to answer @heirloomgal request for the soil amendments i use.
If your Organic gardeners this may interest you.
In the spring each 3 by 12ft. Bed gets 2 cups Neem seed meal, 3 cups of Kelp meal, 1 cup of Langenbite, 3 cups Oyster shell, 5 cups of Fish bone Meal, 3 cups of Alfalfa meal, 2 cups Feather Meal, 2 cups Prilled Limestone, 4 cups of Agricolas 484 soil mineral mix, 10 lbs. of Azomite, 10 lbs. of Humic acid, 10 lbs. of Paramagnetic Bassalt. The 10 pound items = 1 - 2 gallon bucket full of each item. They get broadcast evenly on each bed then the lesser items get dumped into a 2 gallon bucket, mixed well and broadcast onto the bed as well. Then it all gets forked into the top 3-6 inches and watered well Before planting. And that’s usually with a compost tea.
Inquireing minds what to know the price of these amendments as well as what is the expected increased yield of the crops. Another thing to consider is what increase of mineral percentage in the crops. I ask this because I am taking prescription pills of several minerals and my bloodwork still shows low levels ( especially Potassium) so my Doctor advised me to eat more foods with more Potassium in them. I did , but the blood work still showed low levels. So , My wife bought a 6 pack of "V" 8 - 6 oz. cans . I drank 5 of these cans ... 1per day ..... on early morning of the 6th day I felt very week and somewhat incoherant... so my wife drove me to emergency at the hospital. Blood tests showed that I had VERY HGH

Since the computer does't allow me to edit... this is a continuation of the above post... I had Very HIGH levels of potasium. The Doctor said that IF I would have drunk the 6th 6 oz. can, I would have been pushing up daisies. I was within 0.2 points of meeting my maker. I received 4 IV treatments to counter the overload that took 6 days to be stableized and then to be sent home. I hate to see the six figure hospital bill that is to come. So, just a word of caution and a suggestion that you or anyone else might want to test for any mineral concentration increase in the produce.

Today i got the heavier stuff mowed for the first time. It generated enough clippings to get this years compost pile going. Between the two sections i’ve also added 5 or 6 buckets of rabbit manure and am excited to see where these two piles will be in a couple weeks.

@bobm , i dont know what to tell you on the mineral concern. I can assure you our application’s are within reason and not causing any bodily harm. 😊
On the price / yield increase etc. none of that has ever been a concern for us.
Up thru this year we’ve applied between 1-2 thousand dollars of soil amendments each year and yes things grow well for us but our main concern is the quality of what we produce. Now with Rabbits in the mix, rabbit manure will replace the former additions and the rabbit feed i use is still over $1,000 a year but i get all the rabbit i want to eat along the way!

We’ve just ended a two day rain that netted us 1/2 inch which is a lot up here and everything;s ready for some sun again. The bees are quite active today after being holed up and i spent the last couple days working in the shop and avoiding 40 degree drippy weather. I guess i should have at least picked the beans😳

Then we went to town this after noon for the youngest G.Daughters driving lesson and i noticed fresh snow on the foothills. I sure hope it’s late snow and not early snow?

A week ago i turned last years compost pile. During the process i incorporated 25 gallons of Rabbit manure & urine. Looking at that pile today with the thermometer, i see its warming up nicely! I’ll try to get it turned in the next couple days and it should be off and running for the year. It always takes a bit of a jump start to get em going in the spring. Sure am happy to have an abundance of the Rabbit waste now.

Today after mowing the whole yard, i had plenty of new green and decided to roll it all into this years compost pile along with some buckets of Rabbit poop. Looking forward to a stellar year in the compost arena!

the new Raspberry bed is finished And populated. At this point everything’s going as it should and were optimistic for the remainder of the season. Thank you Lord!

I’ve got some serious dirt to move (me an Jackson) and some clovers and buckwheat to get planted; which will finish up the “new projects for the year”.
