My little “seed starting and production laboratory” 🤓will be kicking off real soon now!

Updated my seed start time sheet and got one taped up for referance.

Then on the top shelf; sitting on the heat mat is the start of a Lacto bacillus serum culture which when done will see several uses. Every year about now i grow a batch and dump it down the septic. This will end up at 1 1/2 gallons and i’ll pull off a qt. For foliar feeding before dumping the rest down a toilet! Been here over 30 years and never done anything to the septic system!

Then on the bottom shelf is the beginning of a little Lettuce patch.
In another week that shelf will be 2/3 full of 10/20 trays.

Here we go!
Mike

The “ExHale” co2 bag showed up today and i hung it and it’s monitor in the cuke hootch. After activation it should take a week or so to reach it’s maximum output and continue there for 6 months.
The goal is 1300ppm. Time will tell?

About the time i start feeling like a real “space cowboy” i read in their bio where these bag’s were part of a space mission once!

Anyway, now that i know there are 19,500 types of Butterflies in the world; im determined to chase as many of them as i can in the time the good Lord has given me.🙄

This ole girl and her twin calves from last year have been hanging out on the property for the last week or so. Today i watched her heading around the back of the house so i went to a back bedroom and “intercepted her” just as she was looking in my bedroom window. 10 pictures later i pecked on the window and she left so i sorted them and saved this one. If the window was open i could have petted her nose.
It’s about calving time and it sure looks like she may be carrying twins again, which makes her a “valuable commodity”!

Just a little Alaskana for your evening.
Mike

We’re rolling now!

I gave this pot of Chocolate mint a “bowl cut” 3 weeks ago where i trimmed everything from the pot rim out, both to the top and down the side and it looks like i should do it again.

The output of the ExHale bag is increasing and I'm not sure what effect it had on these 3 cukes but there’s plenty of young’ens hanging out now too!

Typically there’s only a small period of time in the plants life where it will complete a vine resembling “fish on a stringer”, normally you’ll see a bunch of flowers then a slightly lesser amount of actual fruit will set and by picking time im always around 30/40%. All around the grow bag the flowers/cukes are filling rapidly and there’s a little cuke at each node. Normally id thin them a bit but it wouldnt be an experiment if i didnt fool around a little.🙄

They received the first foliar feed of Lacto (LBS) today too.
