What FUN!!

Yes. I haven't ever done an experiment so I just decided why not. I still have more seeds if it all ends in a fail. I poked some holes in the bottom of the egg shells so that I can water them from the bottom not the top. I sent the egg shells through the blender to grind them down. The coffee grounds are used so not extremely strong.

I have the experiment starting today. It's being done on habanero peppers. I have plain soil, soil w/egg shells and coffee grounds, soil w/egg shells, soil w/coffee grounds, soil in egg shells and soil in egg shells w/coffee grounds. I'm going to run this to May 8th. My very first experience with doing an experiment.

if you can keep a journal about what you are doing and other observations (how they seem t be dealing with dry spells, how much water they absorb, how quickly, etc.)... pretty much anything you can think of and write it down. if not that is also ok.

I have a notebook that I am keeping records on how things work out. I placed them in an east facing window sill. If I need to move them I also have a West facing window. I'm really excited to see how things go. I just planted some cantaloupe about a week ago if not less time and I have 2 sprouts coming up. The box that I put a bunch of pepper seeds in because they were all mixed up are also sprouting. Lots of great fun happening here.

I planted my San marzano tomatoes on the 28th and have sprouts coming up.

The habanero pepper experiment isn't showing any plants coming up. I covered them with a clear lid.

I have a large amount of tomato and pepper plants coming up. I have cantaloupe and zucchini and some other squash.

Peppers take a long time to germinate. Be patient.

Got to show the 2 youngest grandsons the ducklings and garden. I pulled weeds from the flower bed and potted some cactus plants and a spider plant into a pot for the seating area with a water fountain I want to make. Today was a sunny warm and breezy day. It wasn't too hot nor too cold.

The habanero peppers I started with soil and egg shells also the ones with the soil and coffee grounds are sprouting.
