I have been busy and not really feeling too good. My garden is going good with the corn, green beans and squash plants. I have some tomato and pepper plants but the stinking dog keeps getting into the peppers and I am about ready to just take her off. I still have the puppies and I am so not happy about it but I can't get anyone to go with me to help me get rid of them at a store. The son and daughter in law are taking Mehawk and Whiner. The first born is a girl and she got a foxtail in her eye, I kept wiping it with warm washcloths and finally managed to get it out. Now I think she might be going blind in the eye. The puppies are loving having the 2 small kiddie pools filled so they can get in and cool down a bit because we've been hitting triple digits

I'm wondering if anyone knows if I have 2 female ducks and 1 is a different breed if the drake would breed both of them or not. I want to get more ducklings but not raising them in the house because of the nasty. Thank you for the help.

Kind of late responding to this, but yes, if both your females are mallard-derived breeds (I.e. normal domestic ducks) then your drake will breed them both. But I believe that very few of them would go broody and hatch and raise their own offspring.

Muscovy ducks on the other hand (the other domesticated species besides mallard-derived) are known for going broody and hatching out eggs. I’m pretty sure Muscovy can interbreed with mallard-derived. I think they call those mules, and I would surmise those are infertile like other mules.

Got to pick my first zucchini of the season. I also picked a half handful of green beans. I also got and ate my first blackberry. It was so sweet and good

The first picture is a portion of the potato harvest. My blackberries started producing fruit . I got Whiner back home. He kept having problems with the grandkids.

I love pumpkin bread! DH does not like anything with squash! I wonder if squash is mostly loved by women?

I don’t think that it is that simple, @Dahlia .

Winter squash is delicious but Summer squash tastes “green.” It’s incomplete.That’s just a personal reaction and thinking but it influences taste, which is ..?

I like zucchini bread but it may have to do with the texture of the bread, sweetness and the spices more than any zucchini flavor. We make yeast breads with squash, potatoes even beets. Nice texture.
