Over or Under Toilet Paper

LOL never flush them, have small lidded trash can in reach. When I have guest for weekend at country house they have to try them. Most people are pleasantly surprised when using for first time. several toilet paper company's have can out with adult version .

I haven't flushed any paper products since 94'. It all goes in the trashcan.

I can't even believe I keep chiming in on this thread....but, wow. Cameras in the sewers? There's a Kodak moment. :\

Moxie, I guess for some reason I find it remarkable that you remember the exact year. I have trouble remembering the years my kids were born.

Two weeks ago, on our cul-de-sac, there was a water discharge from around a man hole sewer cover with smelly contaminated fluid running down both sides of the road gutters and next to and down the sidewalk, and into the storm rain water drain line. I called the city and they sent out a crew to locate and unblock the offending items. Turns out it was a large tenant family 2 blocks over that was flushing plastic covered diapers as well as baby wipes and tampons . When these items get wet they expand ... we got the results of contaminated waste water to contend with. The rest of the town residents get the pleasure of paying the bill in the form of ever higher taxes. :duc Just for everones' information : One of the largest expense items for plumbing clog - up issues for apartment as well as rental home owners ... tampons . :th

:yuckyuck Me too! My memory is going, going, gone. But, we don't flush TP here either, unless it's just necessary to avoid certain bad odors.

One other common toilet item that causes toilet tank leaks which then cause major flooding damage is ... the toilet tank automatic toilet cleaners. The chemical eventually dissolves the rubber washers that hold the bolts of the water tank to the toilet causing leaks and if not caught in time will do some rather expensive water dammage to the residence. Too, If you use the blue automatic cleaner and it causes a leak, it will stain the wet areas BLUE too.

Well, 94' was the year the ex and I moved in with my family...mom, dad, sister..in their 2 houses. My sister and mom lived in the house with really bad drains. By then, dad had insisted NO paper goes down the toilet. So me, my ex and our 3 kids had to learn not to flush paper. I just continued after we moved out in 95.
Now, with my new DH..on this property we bought in 2010...the septic systems are antiquated. Too small for the one toilet and shower and sink even. Probably a good thing I don't flush paper.
