Oh, see - I thought this was about typing up something and then deleting or drastically editing it BEFORE posting it. :\

... I need to read more carefully..
Oh. Either way.

A change of mind in a rather drastic way - I sometimes really wind down as I'm winding up what I supposedly intend to say. I may rip into parts, cut & paste. Still decide it's unnecessary, rude, or maybe just wrong.

It isn't necessarily that I have given something so much thought. It may be that I realize I was not thinking it through until I tried to put it in words. Full of prunes, Mom would have said ...

A drastic change of mind that required ripping into parts, cutting and pasting? That would probably be a NEVER. I love to write, but I am usually more circumspect in what I write for posting and don't delete before posting.

I think that is called hot keys. You accidentally hit something and it is .......gone.

I've had that happen a few times when I got to typing too fast. I still don't know what it was I hit. I'm sure I'll do it again before all is said and done. Worst thing when it happens is when you've put so much time and effort into your post that you just don't have the heart to re-type it! :hit

Maybe once or twice otherwise, I started to post a few lines and then decided that I really didn't have anything interesting or important to add to the conversation, so I deleted it.

With TEG AutoSave,
  • have you "thought better,"
  • then a day or two later, and after realizing that there are new posts on the thread, come back,
  • decided to post something,
  • only to see that your old thought is still haunting the reply box?

Steve

Yup! I dislike those haunting experiences . . . until I realize I forgot to press "post reply" and did want that posted. Of course, by then the thread has flowed to where my post seems misplaced.

I thought these polls had a specified lifetime, then they self-destruct ..?

I am more grumpy at this time of the year ... Maybe, I should start another poll on how many times have you wanted to delete 50% (100%) of another person's post?

Nah
...

;) Steve

My goodness, Steve, you are grumpy this morning! But I have to say, hitting the delete button on someone else's post, or at least putting a big X across it would be satisfying at times.
