My neighbor gave me pears and this is the recipe that I used:

It is so good that I am going to make the bread and freeze it rather than mess with canning or freezing pears. Another neighbor gave me pecans last winter. Nice neighbors! It is a pleasure to share country eggs with them.
I substituted the pears for the peaches and omitted the almond extract. It is the first bread recipe that I've seen that didn't have spices in it, but they are not needed. I used just one ripe pear.
