The picture of the plant you posted has deep notched leaves. The one in the picture above has smooth edges.

Well, if it is a squash, all bets are off 
. I have a pumpkin in 2023 with leaves something like that.
Wikipedia says that the giant butterbur was "introduced into southern British Columbia" but doesn't give much of a description. The USDA has zero information. Southern BC is not far by highway from your home, Dahlia. Here's an article about it there: LINK
There are butterbur species in the US but the pictures of them don't show leaves of that size: LINK.
