planted thyme -- world's tiniest seeds!

It lived! I moved it to the greenhouse to start hardening off, and now it's out in the garden spending a couple of days under the shade of a squash plant. I pulled it out to snap a picture:

I'm wanting to get some herbs to start in pots and basically keep them inside in pots on my kitchen bar!

Is that even doable?

Lots of people do it using a grow light.

hmmmm.. do they have growing lights that don't hang from the ceiling? Like a desk lamp type setup?

No, I'm not recommending this, Nachoqtpie. Silkiechicken refered to it as a "retro version of the Aereo garden." That's probably accurate ~ it can't even use a CFL bulb.

It's just that I couldn't resist posting a link to this odd thing. It might work fine with herbs. You would be left with a lingering scent on your fingers everythyme you turned the light on or off . "Many hands make light work . . . "

Lots of people seem to have good success with just a desk type lamp and CFL bulbs for indoor plants.

whose thyme has grown rapidly from tiny seeds this year also! they were planted when i had more thyme on my hands, but it waits for no one . . . i'll stop.
