Planting ginger root

I have an organic ginger root that has started to sprout I would love to grow it I know that my winters are to cold does anyone have experience growing ginger?

Hi, Ginger is pretty easy to grow. You can buy root to plant each year or take the plants inside overwinter. When planting don't cut eyes from the bulb to plant, plant an entire rhizomes.

I love it sliced in vinegar. Good luck Yulan.

Yes, it will flower, leave one cane when you harvest. Some types can be impressive.

They grow faster than Iris, almost as fast as lemon Grass.
