Planting seed from Store Bought Produce

I've never tried this myself (so far but, I have read that you can use dried beans from the supermarket after first letting them take root wrapped in damp paper towels in an open plastic bag. You read about this in a lot of the 'TIPS/HINTS' gardening books.

I remember when I tought pre school we took lima beans and put them in a ziploc back with a wet napkin and they grew.

Well, the dried pepper seeds did nothing, I'm sorry to say. I waited and waited, and nothing happened. Not a single seed sprouted.

So binned them all and bought soome ancho seed from Park. They are already up. Go figgure!
