IndianJoe's post witht he Yesterday, today, and tomorrow plant got me thinking about plants with flowers that change colors.

i can think of a few:

YTT^
cotton
cotton rose (confederate rose)

what are some others?

I had a regular old zinna this summer that turned from salmon to burgandy as the flowers aged, which really made the newer blooms seem to pop. I hadn't noticed zinnas do this before, so I must have got lucky. Saved some seed, hoping they were isolated enough to come back true.

My 4 O-clocks!
The flower don't change colors but you never know what color the flowers will be!
Some times you look and they will look like this;

Days later the flowers may be all yellow or all pink, you just never know what they will look like.

I had a dahlia this year that started out kind of ordinary yellow- a week into the bloom it turned into the most gorgeous orange/apricot. I couldn't believe it was the same flower!! Nature is so cool. I love those 4 o'clocks Joe, they are so much fun!!!!

oooh...nice pics.

Lets see...color-changing flowers....:rainbow-sun
- Lantana!!!!!!!
- Hydrangeas
- Some Roses - esp. Joseph's Coat, Rainbow Knockout, etc.
- Pulmonaria

I've noticed the following tend to change color slightly as blossoms fade:
- Hyacinth Bean
- Some colors of Sweet Pea
- Mandevilla and Dipladenia
- Achillea (Yarrow), esp. pink and red varieties
- Zinnias (like others said...)

that's all I got fer now....

Not fair, if you say what you consider a Flower with color changing capabilities then you must post a visual! LOL Otherwise we are left to our own imaginations and I am likely to see the 70's all over again! LOL :gig

Let's see. I do like the Brugmansia change. I like the roses that blush! I am apt to say that YTT is the most dramatic by far!

Of my own flowers it would have to be Joseph's Coat
every day the flower takes on a new hue from a yellow to an apricot to a deep red. You can throw in orange too!
