Potted Citronella Plants

Home Depot has potted citronella plants. The plant label claim plants repell mosquitoes. Has anyone grown this plant?

Always been tempted... I think it would work better if you rubbed the leaves on your skin. The nasty bugs around my house would not be deterred by a citronella plant!

I think they only work if you hold the pot on your lap. Then whatever the pot covers is guaranteed not to get mosquito bit.

I have one in a pot by my porch. Don't have mosquitoes around the porch. Not sure it is the plant. I just like the look. Sometimes I will trim a few leaves off and hang closer to the rocking chairs.

I would need a forest of them. Mosquitoes love me. When no one else is getting bites, they are attacking me!

I have a BIL that is like that Carol Dee....I always make sure I am sitting next to him! Mosquitoes go right to him, and leave me alone!
