I'm growing Red and Yellow Bells and I sell them to a CO-OP and he told me last week that they aren't lasting very long for shelf life and I will pick them as they ripen on the plant since I don't want the bugs to attack them. But I was wondering If I should just start picking them once a week and leave them on the plant to maybe keep them fresh?

I would. If not too dry of weather they should remain more crisp and juicy when left on the plant until you need to pick them for delivery. That's generally what we do with fruit/veggies that we are canning and that have come on all at once....pick the most ripe, falling off the plant stuff first and leave the other on the vine or plant until you just have to pick it or it will fall off. It stays much fresher when left on the plant...sort of self storage.

You know, I have been finding that with my tomatoes. They keep much better on the vine than on my kitchen counter.
