Hi everyone! Last December I had an emergency situation where i had to move my small chicken coop over to my veggie garden and fenced it in with chicken wire for the girls. So they have been living there pooping and scratching the plot up. :)

So now I'm moving them over to a new spot and will have my original veggie patch back. Do you think the ground would be alright with the fresh-ish chicken poo in the ground? Or should I work it over with new soil? I don't want to burn any new plants, but with just 3 chooks I'm thinking I could get away with it (?) I'll be planting tomatoes and eggplant and some others - not sure yet.

I think you've got enough time to till that all in and let the soil sit until it's tomato/eggplant/bean time. Don't try any early stuff in there, but it should do just fine for the main season stuff.

Thanks Reinbeau, it's gonna be close, but I'll start my toms in large pots, when I move the coop, the toms will have a head start then I'll move them in.
