Not exactly Rosie the Riveter, but one of the many women who took over in our country's factories once the men had gone to war.

Not a on-the-job photo, however, as she isn't wearing one of those hideous head-coverings that factories required.

I wouldn't have expected 1944 photo to be in color either.

Check out your downspouts, Nyboy. There might be rivets where the different parts are connected. In general, to connect to large pieces of metal welds are used. To connect two lighter metal items a rivet that goes through both pieces and is pushed together making a tight connection that is not removable like a screw or bolt would often be used.

The "great idea" in jeans -- where they get their ability to hold up under working conditions -- is in the rivets. Pockets don't tear out or fall off.
