Hey there,

Has anyone had good success with germinating Rosemary seeds? If so, how did you do it? This is one I really haven't attempted past my first few failed efforts. I'd love to be able to grow these from seed!

I've tried germinating rosemary from seed too and I've not had success with it. The seed packet I have says they germinate after at least 14 days in soil of 70* F. That might be the problem. Maybe your soil is too cold or your soil is too wet. If the soil is too wet, the seeds will rot before they are able to sprout.

You have a point, perhaps a heat lamp and a sandy substrate inside would work. I didn't know they didn't like things too wet!

They can be started indoors. I place them on a heat mat with a dome cover. You will get a few but germination rate is low. Although two or three plants do well enough for us. I bring them in for winter. Happy Planting!!
