I'm having a pretty good second year for my little garden. I've had some life issues, so I'm behind, but my growing season is long, so I will just mulch the tar out of everything and hopefully they'll make it through the hottest part of the summer.

This year I've noticed better soil quality and more worms. I've also noticed that the bugs and weeds have noticed that things are better this year too. I don't know what I'll do aboout the weed problem. I've not mulched like I should so it should help once I do that. For now I've been using the weeds I pull as mulch :) .

I'll take some pictures and post them a little later to show off my mess of a garden.

Good for you! Would love to see pics! I got a bunch of free hay this year, so I am trying the mulching idea for the first time. I notice that when weeds come up through the hay, they are a lot easier to pull....Do you have chickens? I try to think of weeding as harvesting chicken food. My girls love weeds!!! Happy Gardening!
