purslane

you do not want it in your regular gardens, but yes it is edible but not particularly good tasting, a bit slimy and bitter. if only it was chocolate or beef flavored ...
I'll give it a bash if it's nutritious :drool
Mixed into lentils and spices, it'll be no problem going down my hatch.

it does not like being regularly flooded but otherwise it's a pretty tough plant to kill. the many tiny seeds will persist for years so if you don't get rid of it before it drops those seeds you will be chasing them down in the following years.
I love the smell of wild garlic and that's a pest weed to. It's a shame.

But getting back to purslane. Once I can detect it. I'll be bagging it for food.

i've probably harvested a few tons of it by now and put it on the weed pile or buried it (depending upon if it has seeds or not). yes, i do eat some of it.

You might as well eat it. If it's around I certainly will. It ls just making sure that I recognise the right weed. I don't want to poison myself

i think it is pretty easy to identify - there are plenty of pictures of it available for comparison to what you are seeing?
