This is from several years ago but will give some idea of “how it’s done”. Bottom left, line tote and buoy, top right you can see the end of the davit and block. Center, the pots we used and 2 days worth of tails.
bottom center is a 14 gallon bucket containing all the guts, heads etc which are brought home and run thru the compost pile.
The pot hauler is mounted into the back cabin wall and not visible.

In another lifetime, we had a couple of lobster traps in Long Island Sound. A friend with a john boat and an egg beater, for a 6 pack, would go out and raise the traps for us. We got at least 6 dinners until the professional lobstermen found our traps and cut the lines.

Oh, those shrimp buckets sound like fun (and tasty!), but not a whole lot of ocean to be found here in East Tennessee...
