I completely understand Monty, and you can do what you feel is best. I totally get working with meat birds is way different then any birds that will later become pets and layers. They just don't live as long, even if you didn't process them. I hate how vulnerable they are to what seems like everything! Those little buggers have caused one obnoxious issue after another for me. Like random heart failure! UGH!

I wouldn't want you guys eating antibiotic lined meat either, so I understand.

You'll have to forgive me, I just had to say it none-the-less. Its a good thing to keep in mind just in case it ever comes up when you have some layers you need to keep for a long long time. Just putting it in the back of your head. *pin

GOOD NEWS!!! With much more ventilation in the coop, all of the snuffels are gone. We haven't heard a cloggy nose or sneeze for three days now. That is a lesson learned for me. Ventilation, ventilation, ventilation.

My coop is hardware cloth one foot up from the ground all the way around the coop. Plus lots of hardware cloth in various places. As I built my coop, I placed wire and plywood depending on where the sun shone on the coop. Here, the emphasis is on keep them cool enough to survive the summer. But you are right-ventilation-ventilation-ventilation!

That is awesome to hear. Ventilation is very important as you can see. Moisture build up can be a bad thing.
