Hi all,

According to my dad (who was the last one near them today, most of my cucumbers now have permanent leaves, so they are making good progress.

However, I just realized I may have a potential problem looming. I am well aware that cucumbers and watermelons will not cross, since they are two far apart (both genetically and location wise). But does anyone know if cucumbers and HORNED melons (a.k.a. Kiwanos) will cross. They are BOTH Cucumis, and dumb me planted them right next to each other! This year I assume I am OK with regards to eating them, but if they can cross, I may be looking next year at cucumbers that are too leathery of rind to actually be edible (and a couple of the cukes I planted I don't have a source or backup seed for anymore, so starting from fresh isn't feasible.)
