My summer squash keeps rotting before it is time to pick them. They get to be about 3 inches long and then turn brown and rot away. Any idea why this is happening? My other vegetables don't have this problem, just the squash for some reason.

With all the rain in the eastern part of the US, could that be the problem?

With the continuing drought in the Southwest and the heat wave out West, could that be the problem?

Blossom end rot is caused by the plant's inability to carry moisture and the end of the fruit withers and begins to rot. I imagine that too much moisture could easily cause the same kind of problem.
