Thinking in terms of

metabolism
artistry

in soil and plant life restoration hadn't quite occurred to me. Seems an appropriate and restorative ongoing approach.

i liked that they took an old brownfield, cleaned it up, and planted corn in it but also because of the ties to the local native tribe that used to be in that area. i've not had enough time though to go through all their projects or continued efforts or ... just caught my interest for a while and i was glad to see green (they irrigated that field to grow that corn!)...

furnace repair guys came this morning. said the igniter and burners were already rusting and they cleaned them up but recommended we get them replaced with some stainless steel ones. will see what the guy who installed it says as this is under warranty... i hope.

also had the propane refill truck arrive just after the furnace repair people so that was also good to get done.

i had to run out to an appt before they finished but i knew how it was all going before i left so no surprises there.

a busy day and after i got home i squeeked a nap in this afternoon. feel much better. :)

i got more of my room here cleaned up - i needed to dust under my perch here and around it too. whenever i dust after the fall bean shelling season i tend to find all sorts of beans hiding under there. :)

i still hate dusting and this is the hardest part of the job. i thought that perhaps i could make it easier on myself by putting an old sheet down under there so the next time i have to do this i just pull the sheet out of there and wash it... the idea is worthy of a try.

the second hardest part of the job got partially done today too but then i still have to crawl around and dust further under the computer table and among the various cords and lumps down there along with the bookshelves that are behind the computer. i can reach some of it easy but the rest is something i only do twice a year. i will try to get that done tomorrow. no sheet can go down there to make it easier (it would look too icky to me).

after i get that done i move on to the last parts of this task this week sometime and will get it done. the harder challenges in what remains is to do some spider hunting before they can make more little ones. i need to do this three to four times a year (mainly around the table near the patio door area which attracts them because the light attracts bugs for the spiders to catch). some decluttering also going on (which is always a good idea for me in a small room).

even after i get the floor done there is usually more i could do but i tend to do it only after i get a few other things done like stacking box flats and packing up some extra cases of canning jars and moving them to shelves in the garage until i need them this summer/fall.

When you're finished, you can come over here and dust mine. That'll keep you occupied.
