Well, today I noticed that all the little starts(actual fruit) of squash I was so proud of are not getting enough male attention. I have way too many girls and it looks like the boys are just now starting. Is that common for the girls to start earlier? The little starts of squash are now falling off for not being pollinated. :hit Should I go ahead and pick them off until more boy blossoms show up? Lazy boys I have, I guess. -Kinda like an old folks home. Too many women-not enough men to go around. Ha :old

Now this was a funny thread to read.

I've noticed it before too actually, too many female flowers and little, if any, male flowers. Do you just have one plant? You could help pollinate from other plants perhaps. I don't think there would be any negative impacts to picking off the female buds but I don't think it really is necessary either.

I've never had this problem.....I wonder if something to do with temperature triggers that? Or maybe some varieties produce both more quickly?

Well, you can have fried squash blossoms for a while! :D
