I remember going into junior high and seeing the #3 and thinking, "wow, those must be for us big kids!"

Seeing this the first time, I remembered the desks in my 5th grade classroom. The ink wells in #1 made me think of them. However, they didn't have the desk part that lifts for access to our supplies and they weren't for 2 students. The ones we had looked exactly like this:

And, they had an inkwell like in #1. If the girl sitting in front of you had a long braid or a ponytail, you could dip her hair in the ink ...

Nah, I'm kidding. There was the hole but no container of ink in it –– we didn't have fountain pens. Ball points were already available and maybe we just used pencils in the 5th grade :D.

I had 4, 5, 6, and 9 and there were some classes where there was just a long continuous table with chairs along the sides. Also we had some classes that had a large square table and 4 kids shared each table.
