The harvest idea that I came to realize was that as soon as that stem was round, it was ready. Waiting a couple of days was okay but not longer than that.

We might plant a different variety. They are green. Firm. Never picked one with a hollow spot! Usually are about the size of a tangerine. Remove stems and leaves and hard outer layer. Dice and stem then
boil until almost tender. Serve buttered. Or eat raw slices, YUMMY
