What a run of beautiful weather we have been having! Sunny skies and warm temps (50's and 60's during the day). I am so glad I didn't rush to put the garden to bed. Yesterday, I harvested another steamer full of broccoli ( we'll have that on pizza tonight.) Pulled up my parsnips and some more carrots. I am going to try and make a kind of sauerkraut from some of my rutabagas, that are still in the garden. I have brussels sprouts that I will serve with Thanksgiving dinner, still in the ground...
All in all, a wonderful weekend for gardening in the middle of November! I know I will be complaining and hibernating soon- but I am sure am thankful for this November, so far!!

Glad your still having nice weather. I guess it's the lull before the storm. Sounds just like what we are having here. I'm still harvesting my early girls and sungolds. My goal is for the sungolds to last till December. I have noticed that with the cooler weather they are not as sweet as they used to be. But still beats store bought.

Ach!

We had 23 days in a row with frost until yesterday. That morning, the slightly-above-freezing temperatures accompanied near 50mph winds that blew the previous 12 hours of snow away . . . or, nearly!

I was on a little 50 mile round trip thru the country side, yesterday. There was snow on the pavement in the shade of every tree . . . ! Fortunately, the temperature was about 40F by that time so it was just "slushing thru" even on the curves. . . Since it was a round trip, the wind blew us home at a good clip. (The girl climbing on a bright yellow scooter in the parking lot at one stop got some rather concerned looks :/.)

As it was yesterday, the morning sky is blue so I'm enjoying the view from behind this south window. In fact, this window location is pretty darn comfortable .

I have been on the "lucky" side of mother nature too. Even though many surrounding areas have had killing frost / freeze I have skated by!!! Woo Hooo my garden is still going great. All my cool crops (roots, greens, peas, beans, coles etc...) and even my summer stuff okra, tomatoes, peppers. My cukes are done but I'm still getting a few patty pan squash, melons are done too.

Our 4" of snow is about 3" today, guess we didn't get enough of that wind Steve! It is beautiful though! I've got sheets on the line, I figure the breeze will dry them, even if the air isn't quite balmy.
I see my computer forecast is calling for rain or snow showers today, sure looks wrong right now with all that blue sky and sunshine!

Kassaundra, I used to do a lot of driving from OKC to Tulsa. I always looked forward to stopping in Henreyetta for coffee. It meant I had passed the half way point.

Whew! The weather sure changed! I was just on the phone with my husband and noticed that there was a big looong bank of clouds coming in from the west. The leading edge was white. Looking out again in a matter of minutes the clouds were nearly overhead and black. I decided to bring the sheets in "just in case". I close the door behind me, there's a gust of wind and the snow starts coming down horizontally!

You tempted fate, thistle!! We are having dreary rain right now- but sun and high 50's tomorrow... I know what's coming, but I am sure enjoying this!

Yes Lesa, soak up that beautiful weather while you have it! I'm amazed that you are still picking from your garden. It already seems like such a long time since I brought something in fresh for dinner.

My sheets did dry by the way....

...and now the sky appears to be clearing a bit with big blue "sucker" holes! It's certainly not boring!
