As the global recession has swallowed the United States in its seemingly bottomless stomach, one of the first cities to crumble was Detroit. To document this tragic decline, French photographers Yves Marchand and Romand

Won't go into the why, just that the pictures are heartbreaking. There is no place in America for such devastation unless wrought by nature. Much of that is public property that should either be renovated, removed, or sold with renovate/remove option.

Problem Red no one wants to buy, renovate or remove and rebuild in Detroit. The city sells houses for a $1 and no one buys them. Detroit is a dead city.
