thankyou for the tip,
best part they are free,
we have boxes we made from cedar fencing panels (cheapest thing we could find, in cedar so it would last pretty well)

we put the taters on the ground covered with some compost,
and then thanks to you terrific kiddos here,
we used our leaf blower to suck up and chop up the leaves that we have, covered the taters with several inches, (need to do more but I was scared I was gonna smother them)

anyhow the little green leaves are managing to poke through the leaves through

It WoRkEeD!

thankyou thankyou thankyou

(now I gotta go mulch some more leaves ;) and some rims so I can grow my boxes upward)

Excellent! Some folks have had good success using grass clippings- in case you run out of leaves!

I am doing the bucket potatoes and doing leaves and hay from the chicken coop right in the bucket, and then stacking with compost until I reach the top. Potatoes are doing amazing this year!

;)

You guys need to stop rubbing the potato thing in! I'm already sad that I missed potato planting season and you are just making it worse. :hit

Yaaa Bornthrifty! :) My potatoes are still in the office chitting.
Hopefully they'll go in the ground this weekend if it's not pouring and my company doesn't mind. (They won't, it's just my sister. In fact I'll probably have to tie her to a chair so she doesn't finish all my projects!)
