Yes I love autumn, too and harvest time later in the summer. But every year I work my fanny off in the springtime putting the garden in and working outside on the yard, barns and the chicken coop. I come in the house for my shower in the evenings so exhausted I can hardly stand up. I love it. Since my strokes in the late 90's I have had many physical issues and everyone tells me to "cool it" in the spring but I always feel so good (relatively speaking) to get worn out doing something I love. Like Hoodat says, maybe it helps keep me young.

Do any of you work outside in the spring until you almost have to crawl into the house? And like it?

Yes I am with you, I get started working in the yard and garden and the day seems to slip away much to soon. It is very rewarding feeling so tired!

used to. I would work till is was really dusky, then be scared I would step on a snake going to the house(we had lots of copperheads where we used to live).
I miss being able to do all that. I am happy to hear you recovered from strokes and can still enjoy gardening!!

I agree Smiles, sometimes it is so crazy busy and I'm sure I'll never catch up (and often I really don't! ). But it's just golden, it's the work, the anticipation, and the freshness of it all once again that is brilliant.

Every night!!! And then one evening I look around and see that the garden is everything I imagined it would be... Just a magical process!
Some nights, I give thanks that it gets dark- or I am afraid I would work myself to death!!!!
Savor the moments- winter will be here before we know it!

Smiles, yes I do! I'm so tired sometimes when I come in I can hardly stand long enough to get a shower - I've seriously thought of getting one of those shower chairs. :D
