I hope we don't have a late cold snap, or many, many trees and flowers are going to get hit. It's been so mild this winter (temps in the 70's in January!) that the plants are all confused.

Today when I went out to feed the rabbits I noticed that the tulips have sprouted leaves above the ground! I don't think that should be happening in January...

I have lots of mystery bulbs coming up here, too! I'm thinking they are daffodils, but will know soon enough! I just hope we don't get a hard freeze and they die quickly...What a waste it would be!

Wow tulips coming up already in January I bet its because of the mild winter we're having. I have crocuses in the garden popping up everywhere here. Can't wait to see all the flowers start coming up for Spring :D .

You know, I've noticed the same thing here! WOW! I remember reporting mid-February tulips popping up and I was blown away then. Looks to be even earlier this year. I hope there really isn't an unexpected cold snap. I see buds swelling on my fruit trees and that would destroy any chance of fruit this year. :fl

How cool....I can't wait for the Tulips to start popping up here.....it's usually about the end of April in Northern Michigan.....we would love to see photos when they bloom....;)

I have hyacinths that started coming up already. One started around the end of December, I can see the flower bud too. There is another bulb, not sure what it is called, that is about six to eight inches tall at the moment, and that started growing around the middle of Dec. Looking around my garden the other day I saw more bulbs sprouting, not sure what they are yet, I think some are crocus. It's crazy, the weather has been so mild, we have only had two good snow falls, and one was in Oct!!

Now the pink magnolia is blooming. :( It's just *way* too early and I'm sure it means we're going to have a three-day ice storm in February that will kill everything. -Wendy

ooooh, no no no... don't say that!!! :fl

We had frost last night, and will again tonight... but that will be it and only getting into the 40's at night after that. We're going to be in the 60's again all week here. I usually prune my roses in February and I just HAD to do it this weekend because of all this craziness!

Here is one of my Flame pattern Tulips.....
