Absolutely CORRECT. The mushrooms are actually the above-ground FRUIT of the mycological (fungal) mat that grows just beneath the soil's surface. Even though they are gone, it just means the fungus is done fruiting. The mycological mat is still there, doing it's "thing", helping to turn your humus into fertile plant-loving garden soil. Nothing to worry about.
