When I lived in CA we had lots of "drop offs.". We would always feed them for as long as they stuck around. Poor things!
I've sometimes wondered if, when the "other cat" started showing up and pushing on the windows, if, had we NOT found Juniper, we would have opened the door and let it in*. Probably not (in truth, we consider it a VERY ugly cat,) but I imagine we might have left it food and let it get used to us enough to get close to it (I kind of wish we had done that anyway now, if it got used to us getting near, one of us might have been able to get close enough to read her collar tag, work out who she belongs to, and contact them to tell them the mess their cat is causing.

*It very well might have, it wandered into our neighbor's kitchen while it was being renovated. Our neighbor actually thought she was OUR cat (they knew we had just gotten one, but had not seen it yet.)
