Thyme in Walkway

I picked up both Elfin and wooly thyme last night. How much abuse can thyme roots take? The crack is very narrow will need to mutate roots to fit in. Wondering if I would be better off with seed.

Mutate or mutilate? Not sure you can do the first. The second is easy, but you really want to try something nearer the middle. Clean all your expensive sand from a few cracks, divide the thyme roots, and gently prod them into the cracks with something like a Popsicle stick before replacing some of the sand. Good luck!
