Just moved to a house with my own garden for the first time in my adult life (lived in flats with sad communal gardens before this) and I'm keen to grow some veg! The garden is a reasonable size and extends all the way round the house so I have all aspects available, but there is a lot of gravel/patio/grass so I will probably mainly do tubs, at least for my first year. I don't think I have room for a proper greenhouse sadly.

I was thinking of planting some garlic/red onion bulbs and herb seeds I got in Aldi in tubs this weekend and leaving them inside for a while - we have a sun room so plenty of natural light.

Both my mum and my partner's parents are keen gardeners, but with lockdown they can't come and give advice any time soon, so just wondering what your top tips for beginners are? Anything you wish you had known before you started? Thanks!
