Oh, Mensa emailed me an article about this research! It's pretty interesting, isn't it? I wish I knew about bee genetics... like, does the queen bee have a lot more traits (varying genes) to pass down? Otherwise it seems like you'd end up with a whole hive of scout bees... and she'd probably have a mutiny on her hands.... or you'd end up with a whole hive of nonadventurous bees and they'd never find new plants.
And what about inbreeding?

Bees are so interesting.

What kind of bee is easiest for a small garden in north california? I used to live in montana, and i know folks have bees up there, even near dillon.
