I collect cuttings almost everyday as some of you have noticed.

So I thought I would start a day by day thread so everyone can share with others what they were able to pickup.

I will start with what I got today.

I replaced a door today with a good used door! I love the all profit days!
When I finished up I mentioned how nice his Crotons looked.

Soon I was on my way home with a few Croton cuttings.
I also sold a used remote control and set it up for this very nice lady.
The price included a few Yellow Hibiscus cuttings.

Well that is what I picked up so far today, but the day is young!

Joe

Please add what you got/ scored.

Edited to say; See no pictures = no replies ! Watch now I will add pictures and......

I got some seeds from ornamental hot peppers while out on a walk last week and also some canna seeds (they look good, I hope I can sprout 'em).

Well, this score wasn't today but I got 'em planted today ;) This past Sunday our tree people brought a load out while we were buring off some we couldn't use and gathering what we could. In the pile was freshly cut mimosa trimmings, some bush-type trimmings, grape timmings, and some paper mulberry. They were all on the burn pile when I rescued them (fire was already going) and stuck them in a bucket of rain water. Got 'em all dipped in rooting hormone and stuffed in soil today :)

Good looking out for goodies!
It is funny that if we look around us each day there are new plants just waiting to be had!

When I ask for a cutting I talk to them and show what I know.
I don't just start cutting there beloved plant all up, I prune it and save the cuttings!

Good luck with your new seeds!

Great deal!

I do have to say burn the Paper Mulberry! Then burn it again!
It is so invasive here! It sends out roots hundreds of feet long with trees starting all along the root!
The leaves are rough even for my thick hard skin!
No fruit like a true Mulberry!

I don't know if it a good idea or not but if the tree is on it's own root then it should be good for cuttings.
I am sure you can get them to grow.

I want to start grafting a tree I have in the front yard. I would like to just practice with it. I plan on trying every thing I can on there!

I just saw a 'roof' lawn mix for sale in a plant mag Joe... you can plant a lawn of mixed grasses and/or wildflower seed for your roof!

Very eco friendly and will lower heating/cooling bills as well. Just needs the occasional watering... as it states is drought tolerant to all climates other then desert. ;)
