transplating strawberry plants & saving the roots

any tricks to this? we are working on our strawberry patch and have alot of extra plants I would like to get rid in a garage sale. Is there any tricks to replanting them?

Hi fancie!

I found this for you on a UK site -- I hope it helps. I have done it many times in this manner & it worked well. It is important to discard the old plants every couple of years as the old ones get tired & don't produce as well so keep some of your new "runners" from this year & repeat the process every year.
