LOL when I first looked at the photos, I thought I want to do that, then the truth set in it would take more years then I have left on earth.
So who planted the old trees you love to look at?
We plant trees with faith.
Faith that they will live, and outlive us.
Faith that they will bear fruit, unto the generations that follow us.
Faith that they will give shade and delight to others after us.
Faith that they will grow into their own.
Faith that they will give pleasure to others with their spectacular blossoms.
Faith that someday, some child will hang a tire swing from it's branches.
Faith that they will be a living testament to the planter, long since forgotten.

I'll have to post a photo of my tree tunnel. Far less than beautiful, but fun for the grands.

So, instead of saying in need to post, I got off my Wisconsin dairy air and took a few pics.

Here is the 'secret' entrance:

Through the guardian branches. . .

The path veers slightly to the end. . . or is it the beginning? A path through the woods and gully start here.

From the end to the hidden opening and back to where we started.

As I said, it is not beautiful, but it is quiet and secluded. The wind and snow touch the path differently from the rest of the world. I'm glad that I took the photos. It seems DS spent a good deal of time cleaning and extending the tree path this spring that I didn't know about.
