Use Ginger and/or Turmeric? Grow it?

I have bought spices from this company.

Michlicht

My purchases have only been the "blends." I was making both smoked and breakfast sausage. I would like to do more of this and it's nice that Michlicht is close. It has been in Spokane for nearly 70 years.

@digitS' If you look into that link you will see cardamom seeds not root. I just don't know what to make of this...

@digitS' , Thanks...looks like it blooms near the base of the plant...Must go see if I have missed them all these years....

We're trying to incorporate more turmeric into our cooking and we also like the golden turmeric milk. I grew some this year which @hoodat gave me in two 6 gallon pots. It was very easy to grow. I'll be digging it up here soon. It got really tall, so I'm hoping it did well.

thanks. i've been thinking of growing some of this myself. perhaps i'll give it a try

@journey11, i have your quote posted on my office door. i keep it there as a simple way for folks to make really sure they want to come in and disturb me!

humm. google turmeric and golden milk. now thats very interesting reading, will have to look into adding that somewhere in the garden....
will have to look online for roots for sale....

(quote="journey11")I've left them as long as possible. Can't wait to dig them up and see what I've got! :weee

Oh! @chefsdreams , you probably meant the quote Journey shared:

“I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.
This makes it hard to plan the day.” – E. B. White

Edit: somebody look at ChefsDreams and see if he's smiling :hide.

Should I make a Gingerbread Man?

Notice that the spring tuber on right, which grew the other two, is holding up well. But! It's a little wrinkled and it's time to make use of it.
