Using indoor lighting systems for plants.

So you are saying I could use a regular fixture to start my seedlings???? I dont have them under light because I dont have a flourescent fixture, but I have a lot of those CFLs, they are what we use! *thinking*

OK, I am a little slow, sorry. So do you not have to place them directly under the lights or could you place them 1 or 2 feet away and they wouldn't become leggy? I use the flourescents and place them 1-2 inches to get good results. Or could you place them anywhere in the room as long as you are using the proper wattage CFL?

I don't think it will work if they are that far away. I have mine right next to the plant.
