Using Pictures from the Internet as Avatars?

Is there a way to use pics from the internet as avatars? I found this awesome bird picture that I would like to use as my avatar. The picture has no watermark, so I figure that it should be fair game.

Can you save it to your desktop or "files" and import it or drag and drop from there? That's what I had to do with this avatar.

mine came from the net. as long as where you are getting it from doesn't state they have a copyright on it or restrict it in some way it seems safe to use it. and like catjac1975 says, as long as it doesn't promote a product that could look for payment you should be fine.
