I have always made my ginger tea super strong with about a fourth cup of freshly peeled and sliced ginger root. I just put the fresh ginger in a mug, pour hot water over it, and let it steep for 30 minutes.

A friend of mine told me today that she does the same except she also adds fresh thyme. I'm going to try that soon.

Does anyone have any other ideas of what fresh herbs might go well with ginger tea?

i love candied ginger. so much that i can't even buy it in larger quantities as then i eat it all. to make ginger tea here i used to use powdered ginger and brown sugar or honey. now i don't get that out very often.

DW makes ginger tea, regularly.

Sometimes she uses "Ginger Aid" bags.

As often, she grates ginger root and squeezes a slice of lime or lemon in with the hot water.
