There is a nursery Rosedale, that I have never been to. Their website has a long list of fruit trees, I want some Asian pear trees. The restaurant I was meeting my family at was only a few miles away. After lunch i stopped there only to look. I came across a weeping plum, I love weeping trees and couldn't leave without it. Not sure if it will go in the new orchard, I think I want it closer to the house. I might even move a weeping crab apple I have and put plum in its place. have learn if only going to look, leave wallet home I have NO self control.

LOL, me neither! :) Googled it and it looks like it will be a beautiful tree. Will yours bear fruit too or is it just ornamental?

There are worse habits to have.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, @Nyboy, you know you'll get nothing but support from the gang here. Enablers, we all are!

"I was only going to look" is the gardeners (chicken parents, too) version of the Red Neck's, "Hey, you guys, watch this!" You know something is going to happen and can only hope it turns out okay.

Yes, Rosedale does have a very good selection. Most of our basic plants come from there (it's very handy to have a place I can pick up some Cuban oregano plants that DOESN'T involve carting them home from Union Square.

BYW if you are in that area, wait a bit before trying Green Valley nearby. It's not QUITE open for the season yet.

P.S. if you are around there again and DON'T have lunch plans in place (and have the stomach budget for a heavyish lunch) you may want to continue down through elmsford and try Cerbone of Naples (the pizza parlor in the mini mall with the K-mart and the Home Goods. Their pizza sucks, but they make a Penne Cremosa pasta that is phenomenal.

Thanks for tips about Green Valley and Cerbone of Napes !! Rosedale seemed to have a very large section of natives. Most where just pots of dirt still really early.
