I enjoy seeing the snow.

The cold doesn't bother me much altho my favorite outdoor activity in winter is going back indoors.

I won't really notice the lengthening daytime for a good 4 weeks. Angle of the sun through the day and PNW overcast skies - you know, this is really a poor environment for greenhouse use. I say that knowing full well how much being in mine in February will lift my spirit.

Those hours that with gentle work did frame
The lovely gaze where every eye doth dwell
Will play the tyrants to the very same
And that unfair which fairly doth excel.

For never-resting time leads summer on
To hideous winter and confounds him there,
Sap checked with frost and lusty leaves quite gone,
Beauty o'er-snowed and bareness everywhere.
Then were not summer's distillation left,
A liquid prisoner pent in walls of glass,
Beauty's effect with beauty were bereft,
Nor it nor no remembrance what it was.
But flowers distilled, though they with winter meet,
Leese but their show; their substance still lives sweet.

William Shakespeare

Perhaps, I should be taking the lemon verbena from the freezer and making a cup of fragrant herbal tea.
