I'll be cooking a big chicken and a turkey breast, homemade giblet stuffing w sausage, baked & mashed winter squash, probably mashed potatoes too, homemade (but not by me) cranberry sauce, and frozen green peas. I may make eggnog, and i plan to make a really light jello dessert rather than pie which I never have room for after stuffing my face with the main courses. I'll make enough to eat for a week, and freeze an equal amount for the week of Christmas.

I share the turkey and chix with the dogs, and make them a separate pan of stuffing without garlic, onions, or celery. We all love Thanksgiving!

That's a whole lot of food!
There's going to be a large amount of people here. 2 adult children with spouses, our daughters ex- husband is back from Colorado and since he's still our favorite son in law he's going to be here, 8 grandchildren, my husband's mother, my husband and I, the son's neighbor and her daughter and foster kids and her mom. We will be having a party for sure but it's all good because we love having people here. 2 of our grandkids have autism and the older one loves being here because of the chickens and ducks. It's so much fun watching him with the chickens.

Traditional. Yes, I see that above ;).
  • Turkey, and the only way that I have been able to change a very simple stuffing is substitution of cilantro for the parsley.
  • Mashed potatoes cooked with celeriac, cream cheese added, milk gravy,
  • Grandma's recipe yeast rolls, cranberry sauce
  • Maybe baked sweet potatoes,
  • Green bean casserole,
  • And pumpkin pie!
DD may have some ideas for hors d'oeuvres and drinks.

We are going to have turkey, Grandma's homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, yam bake, green bean supreme casserole, cranberry sauce, homemade cheese ball with crackers, homemade salal mead, champagne, and pumpkin pie!
How do you make the green bean casserole supreme? I would like to change it up a bit this year and then I can relay it to my daughter in law.

I'm going to try to make the stuffing with the cilantro because cilantro and butter make everything taste better.
