If I wasn't so lazy I would go take a picture of my neighbors camellias... they are finishing up blooming right now. They were at their heaviest bloom last month. They'll go on for another month or 2. I love the winter blooming here. I used to get some cuttings for vases.

Quite large shrubs they are!

Card says zone 7, don't know if that's to 7 or from 7 and up.
We saw red, white, pink and an off red. Didn't see any yellows.

Sec, usually (i guess always) when a plant tag says a zone number on it, that means the coldest zone it is good for planting in.

For example a tag just says "zone 7" on it. That means it can be grown in zones 7 or 8 or 9 or 10

There indeed are exception plants, but good nurseries will specify on them.
For example, some Daffodils may say "zones 3 to 7", and other Daffodils may say "zones 4 to 9". Some daffodils don't do well down south. Similar exception might be some fruit trees that need a certain number of chill hours during winter.

There are species Camelias too, more wild natural kinds. Camelia sinensis is one. That one has a single layer of petals on the flowers, and is the kind used to make TEA, the regular kind of tea that has caffeine in it.

Camelia sinensis is an alternative caffeine source...

I think I'm going to plant one in front of the dog yard, now that the tree is down. Just can't plant it yet, because the downed tree is in the way, lol. Might end up putting the other next to it on the other side of the gate, need to measure out space to see if it'll grow ok.

:/ well we went to 3 places - 2 'garden centers' and the largest nursery in the Richmodn area - all three got me blank looks when I asked about yellow camelias. I suppose if I want this bad enough, I'll have to order it online.
